Elderly Fisherman Missing in Penghu; Land, Sea, and Air Search Underway

An 80-year-old fisherman surnamed Hsu from Guoye Village, Penghu County, went to the waters near the Guoye lime kiln yesterday to set fishing nets and has not returned. Police, fire departments, coast guard units, and aerial reconnaissance aircraft have been searching for him, but as of noon today, the missing fisherman has not been found. Hsu went to the waters near the Guoye lime kiln during low tide yesterday afternoon. When he did not return by evening, his motorcycle and an orange bucket were found on the shore, but he was nowhere to be seen. The Penghu County Fire Bureau received the report last night and has been conducting search and rescue operations since. They have mobilized teams from Niaoyu and Yuanbei, utilizing boats, underwater search teams, and drones. Chen Zhen-zhong, Mayor of Huxi Township, visited the scene to express his concern and offer support to the family.
