Hsinchu County Launches 'Smart Guardian Eye' Project, Upgrading City Governance with AI

Central News Agency, Guo Xuanwei, Hsinchu County, 27th. Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke launched the 'Smart Guardian Eye' project today. By integrating AI image recognition and big data analysis into surveillance systems, the project aims to provide real-time warnings and risk assessment, enhancing the efficiency of public safety incident prevention and response, and upgrading smart city governance. The county government held a press conference where Yang stated that the initiative aims to deepen the resilience of public spaces and improve response capabilities to new types of abnormal events by breaking away from traditional surveillance. Liu Yifan, Director of the Digital Development Department, explained that the project introduces 'Vision-Language Model (VLM)' technology, which can deeply understand the context of images and accurately judge behavioral patterns. When the system detects an anomaly, it can proactively notify the responsible units, shortening response times. Currently deployed around the county government, it will be extended to childcare centers, kindergartens, major intersections, and parks.
