Trading volume set a record, and the total market capitalization of listed companies climbed to 144.34 trillion NTD. High-priced stocks also strengthened, led by Aspeed and WinWay, with the roster of thousand-dollar stocks reaching 52, marking five major highlights at once. The Taiwan stock market opened high and continued to rise, with the weighted index surging nearly 1,300 points during the session, reaching a high of around 44,818 points. It closed up 731.43 points at 44,256.8 points, setting new historical records for both intraday and closing indices, which is the first highlight. Secondly, although the OTC index rose only 0.2% to close at 440.19 points, it reached an intraday high of 449.38 points, also setting new records for both intraday and closing indices, indicating continued buying momentum for small and medium-sized stocks, which is the second highlight.
