Classmethod, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Satoshi Yokota; hereinafter "Classmethod") announces its participation in the 'Cosmos Coalition,' a global ecosystem initiative launched by NVIDIA to promote the development of open world models.

The Cosmos Coalition is an ecosystem-driven initiative that brings together leading world model developers, AI developers, and physical AI leaders to collaboratively advance open world models across industries. Members leverage NVIDIA's Cosmos foundational world model development technologies, training tools, and cloud infrastructure for large-scale training, while contributing their own models, research findings, and evaluation methodologies to the ecosystem—aiming to drive innovation and improve interoperability in the field of physical AI.

Through its participation in the Cosmos Coalition, Classmethod will advance the implementation of physical AI in Japan's industrial environments from the proof-of-concept stage to continuous operational deployment.

Background of Joining the Cosmos Coalition

Japan hosts a wide range of industrial sites—including manufacturing, logistics, and retail—alongside companies and research institutions supporting industrial robotics, mobility, AI robotics, and social infrastructure.

However, transitioning physical AI from isolated proof-of-concepts to sustained business operations requires standardized evaluation methods, data and computing infrastructure, reference architectures, and implementation and operational know-how that can be shared across companies and industries.

Classmethod leverages its technical expertise in cloud integration and its experience in designing and implementing systems based on customers’ operational challenges. By joining the Cosmos Coalition, Classmethod will serve as the implementation and operational layer connecting model developers with industrial users. It will generalize insights gained from customer validations—while respecting confidentiality and intellectual property—and contribute them back to the ecosystem as evaluation methods, reference architectures, and implementation workflows tailored to Japan's industrial landscape.

Classmethod’s Initiatives and Future Outlook

Classmethod will begin by conducting technical validations in manufacturing environments, leveraging NVIDIA Cosmos and the NVIDIA Metropolis Blueprint for Video Search and Summarization (VSS) to interpret video and sensor data and connect them to on-site operational decision-making. Building on this, Classmethod will pursue the following initiatives through its participation in the Cosmos Coalition:

・ Technical Validation and Knowledge Sharing

Continuously conduct technical validations of Cosmos and VSS, and disseminate practical insights in Japanese through its technical media platform 'DevelopersIO' and seminars.

・ Contribution to the Ecosystem

Return insights on evaluation methods and operational practices gained from on-site validations to the Cosmos Coalition, providing Japan-specific evaluation frameworks, reference architectures, and implementation workflows.

・ Co-Creation with Customers

Starting with manufacturing, Classmethod will conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with customers across logistics, retail, mobility, and infrastructure—industries with high potential for physical AI adoption. It will continuously develop new, industry-specific use cases for physical AI that go beyond video and sensor data utilization.

・ Implementation and Operational Support

Support not only PoC phases but also the design, construction, and operation of production environments, including cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, security, monitoring, and cost management.

Under its corporate philosophy of 'continuously contributing to the creative activities of all people through open-minded thinking and high technical capability,' Classmethod will play a bridging role between the evolution of world models and their practical application in industrial settings, promoting the sustained implementation of physical AI in real-world operations.

※ NVIDIA VSS (Video Search and Summarization): A reference architecture integrating visual language models such as Cosmos Reason. It enables existing camera footage from factories, warehouses, stores, transportation systems, and urban spaces to be used as actionable business data through search, summarization, and analysis.

CEO Statement

Satoshi Yokota, CEO, Classmethod, Inc.

"Our role is to ensure physical AI moves beyond proof-of-concept and becomes an established part of on-site operations. This requires not only excellent models but also integrated design of data, cloud, business processes, security, and operations. Classmethod leverages its expertise in cloud integration and field-driven DX to connect model creators with end users. Sharing insights openly from our validations has been a core part of our culture since our founding.

Through our participation in the Cosmos Coalition, we will advance validation and implementation together with customers and partners, actively disseminating the knowledge we gain in reusable formats—while respecting confidentiality and intellectual property. We aim to create implementation patterns for physical AI from Japan’s industrial sites that can succeed globally."
