Clark Memorial International High School (Headquarters: Fukagawa City, Hokkaido; Principal: Yoichi Yoshida), a wide-area correspondence school, and its Chiba Campus will hold a formation ceremony on Thursday, April 9th, for the "Boys' Basketball Major" launching in April 2026, in educational partnership with Chiba Jets Funabashi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative: Seiya Tamura; hereinafter "Chiba Jets"). The 17 students belonging to this major will gather together, taking a new step forward with the pride and determination of being the first graduating class.

The 17 first-generation students will make a new history in basketball

This major goes beyond just improving competitive skills; it emphasizes essential elements for developing human character, such as independence, collaboration, and a sense of normative consciousness. Through daily practice and school life, it aims to nurture individuals who can think for themselves, improve together with their peers, and contribute to society and the local community.

Striving for plays that involve independent thinking and proactive movement

Carefully confirming tactical aspects as well

Furthermore, by placing students in a competitive environment where they interact with players holding high professional-level aspirations, it is expected they will gain multifaceted learnings, such as the attitudes valued by professional players, relationships with the local community, and awareness of social responsibility. Through this major, we will challenge ourselves to build a "new educational model" that connects sports, education, and the community to nurture the talent that will lead the next generation.

Valuing communication with teammates

Besides physical activities, there are many opportunities for classroom learning

Embodying both literary and military arts (academics and sports) without leaning toward either

17 peers will grow by elevating each other

On the day of the event, greetings from our school's principal, greetings from guests, an explanation of the major's overview, and a pledge by a student representative are scheduled. For the 17 first-generation students, it will be an important occasion to recognize that they are the first generation to carve out the history of this major and to share their determination for their future journey.

We sincerely hope you will experience the students' passion and genuine words at the venue and kindly introduce them widely.
