Yotsukaido City has signed a cooperation agreement with JGC Holdings Corporation, Revo International Inc., and SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY LLC for the promotion of resource recycling of waste cooking oil toward building a sustainable society. As part of this initiative, the city will join the 'Fry to Fly Project' to further promote the conversion of waste cooking oil into resources. Since 2015, Yotsukaido City has been collecting approximately 10 tons of waste cooking oil annually from households. Under this new agreement, the collected oil will be recycled as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The city aims to increase collection volume by actively communicating the benefits to residents and contributing to a decarbonized society.
