Golden Week at Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Park! Nonhoi Park to Host Hugely Popular Annual Golden Week Event

Golden Week is the perfect time to enjoy Nonhoi Park in the refreshing air with everyone!

Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Park (Nonhoi Park) will once again host its hugely popular annual Golden Week event from Saturday, April 25 to Wednesday, May 6, 2026 (with a special opening on Monday, April 27).

There's plenty of fun to be had, including the "Golden Week Limited Special Feeding Time" where you can see animals eating, the "Nonhoi Rally" where you can get animal keychains from a gacha machine, and a large gathering of food trucks offering delicious gourmet food!

Last year's lion triplets are growing up fast!

The three baby lion triplets, Den, Aru, and Vega, born in August 2025, who became a big topic of conversation, are also growing up healthy.

Come and meet our NEW FACE animals!

The red panda "Anko" (female, 2 years old), who arrived at Nonhoi Park from Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Garden on March 24, has been on public display since April 21.

Three baby goats, Kobushi, Tsubaki, and Anzu, were born on March 29. This is the first time in four years that goats have been born at Nonhoi Park. Growth diaries are currently being published on Nonhoi Park's official X and Instagram, and they are beginning practice for spending time in the outdoor enclosure. You might even be able to see the three cute baby goats in the enclosure during Golden Week.

Furthermore, in the penguin area of the Polar Animal House, you might even catch a glimpse of penguins warming their eggs!?

One of the charms of Nonhoi Park is that even repeat visitors can always make new discoveries, such as the growth of the animals.

【Golden Week Limited】Wild Meals too! Special Feeding Time

During the Golden Week period, you can see animals eating on a daily rotating schedule. In particular, the wild meals where lions and tigers eat prey with fur and bones still attached are very powerful!

It is said that feeding them in a state close to their natural wild life extends their feeding time, increases animal satisfaction, and reduces stress, which also has a positive effect on animal welfare. Nonhoi Park is also making efforts such as wild meals (and physical feeding) to enable animals to live more richly and to address the problem of wildlife damage in Okumikawa.

One coin for gacha too! 【Job Discovery Nonhoi Rally】

A popular park rally for children, which can be enjoyed for a single coin of 500 yen. Why not explore the park while challenging yourself with quizzes about zookeeper jobs? At the start, you can get an original animal keychain from a gacha machine! Also, at the goal, you can challenge the Nonhoi Treasure Gacha. Videos introducing zookeepers' jobs, such as blood sampling training for Amur tigers and claw trimming for brown bears, will also be released.

Reception will be held at the Central Gate for the first 300 people each day (start reception until 2:00 PM).

【Held Daily】Adults and children alike will be satisfied! Gourmet Food Trucks

A large collection of food trucks offering delicious gourmet food will gather along the canal in the park! Eating with everyone under the blue sky is exceptional. There is a spacious lawn area nearby, where you can enjoy a leisurely picnic.

【JR Tokai Collaboration Campaign! "Let's Go to Nonhoi Park with TOICA!" is underway. Go to Nonhoi Park by train and get a train card!】

About 6 minutes walk from Futagawa Station. During Golden Week, avoid traffic jams and try going to Nonhoi Park by train! Nonhoi Park is currently holding a collaboration campaign with JR Tokai. Those who visit the park using a transportation IC card on the JR Tokaido Line to Futagawa Station will receive a "Nonhoi Park x JR Tokai Collaboration Card" at the East Gate of Nonhoi Park. Please come by train to avoid traffic and get your train card.

Free temporary parking & shuttle bus service available. Efforts to alleviate traffic congestion

During the Golden Week period, the area around Nonhoi Park will be very crowded. If you are coming by car between Saturday, May 2 and Tuesday (public holiday), May 5, please use the free temporary parking lots set up at Toyohashi Science Core and Toyohashi University of Technology. A free shuttle bus service will also be provided from the temporary parking lots (canceled in case of rain).

Nursing rooms available for peace of mind for those with babies & children can ride all amusement park rides for 500 yen!

Nonhoi Park covers an area of approximately 40 hectares, equivalent to about 8 Tokyo Domes, and includes a zoo, natural history museum, botanical garden, and amusement park, so it's impossible to see everything in one day.

The amusement park zone has 13 types of attractions, including the Nonhoi Coaster and a Ferris wheel with a view of Toyohashi, and a one-day all-you-can-ride ticket costs 1000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children of junior high school age or younger.
