Gather at Shinhotaka Ropeway's "Summit Forest" on Mountain Day! Outdoor Event "Hida Outdoor Deep #02" to be Held in Hida Takayama, Gifu Prefecture!

The outdoor event "Hida Outdoor Deep #02" has been decided to be held on August 10th (Mon) and 11th (Tue/Holiday) at the Summit Forest of Shinhotaka Ropeway's Nishi-Hotaka Station (Kamisaka, Okuhida Onsen-go, Takayama City)! It's an event where you can enjoy a "deep" outdoor experience while taking in the magnificent views of the Alps, with various workshops that can be experienced in the forest and gourmet food that offers a sense of coolness. Admission is free (parking and ropeway fees are separate), and the event will proceed in light rain but will be canceled in case of stormy weather.

The event aims to "disseminate the diverse ways of enjoying and the appeal of the outdoors," offering not only classic outdoor activities like camping and fishing but also niche ways to enjoy the outdoors such as climbing, lichens, medicinal herbs, and game meat (gibier). The "Hida Outdoor Freaks" event, planned by the same organization, is in its 6th year and has become a regular event. "Hida Outdoor Deep," held this time, is in its second year and is conceptualized to offer a deeper (deep) experience than "Hida Outdoor Freaks."

This venue is a first in the event's history! It will be held at the Nishi-Hotaka Station and Summit Forest. At an altitude of 2,156 meters, with an average temperature of 18°C even in midsummer, the venue will offer various outdoor experiences related to "coolness" while enjoying the spectacular view surrounded by the Alps.

Planning leader Jun Takemoto said, "My wish to plan an event at the summit of Shinhotaka has come true. I want not only tourists but also local residents to enjoy the magnificent views of Shinhotaka through this event."

Experience content to enjoy the coolness includes planned experiences such as smoked ice cream, craft gin making, wood burning portrait drawing, making insect repellent spray using aroma, and a stamp rally.

In addition, a live acoustic concert by local musician "Trilogy Kosuke Hojo" has also been decided for the venue! Refreshing music will color the venue.

Furthermore, many food vendors have decided to participate on the day. The participating vendors are "Hida Mori Cafe," "Hanchikutei," "Terada Farm," and "Shinhotaka Ropeway," with four stores scheduled to open. You can savor summer gourmet foods such as craft cola, crepes, chilled tomatoes, and curry made with natural and outdoor-related ingredients while gazing at the Alps. Limited edition event merchandise will also be on sale!
