Takatsuki City Bus to Exhibit Rare Vehicle at Surutto KANSAI Bus Festival

Takatsuki City Bus will participate in the 25th Surutto KANSAI Bus Festival, to be held at the Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Suita City, Osaka, on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The operator plans to enliven the event by exhibiting the rare 'UD Trucks Space Runner A' bus and hosting a capsule toy event where visitors can win bus merchandise such as Tomica models.

Takatsuki City in Osaka Prefecture currently operates the only public bus service in the prefecture. Since its launch in 1954, it has been a familiar means of transport for residents for over 70 years, serving commutes, school trips, shopping, and outings.

In the past, the operator has drawn attention at the event by exhibiting various vehicles, including the 'Takatsuki Shogi Liner,' a bus decorated inside and out with Shogi motifs befitting 'Shogi Town Takatsuki,' and a 'Reprint Retro Color Bus' featuring the color scheme used from the mid-1960s to the early Heisei era.

This time, the 'UD Trucks Space Runner A' will be exhibited for bus enthusiasts. This bus is one of the final models from Nissan Diesel (now UD Trucks) and is an OEM vehicle of the Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Star. It is a rare model known for its 'Fuso looks with a UD engine.' Given its limited production volume and the passage of time resulting in significantly fewer active units, this is an excellent opportunity to encounter this precious bus. Furthermore, at the event, a capsule toy project will be held, offering bus goods such as the already sold-out 'Tomica (Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Star)' and the 'Front Mask' originally attached to the front of actual buses during the 70th-anniversary celebration.
