平成28（2016）年7月17日，在第40屆聯合國教科文組織世界遺產委員會會議上，「李奧納多、柯比意（Le Corbusier）的建築作品－對現代建築運動的顯著貢獻－」被登錄為世界文化遺產，該項目由包括東京都台東區的國立西洋美術館在內的7個國家17處資產組成。
今年，即令和8（2026）年7月17日，將迎來世界文化遺產登錄10週年。
為紀念這一里程碑，我們將在令和8年全年舉辦10週年紀念事業，旨在廣泛傳播國立西洋美術館的建築和文化價值、建築師李奧納多、柯比意、促成美術館設立的「松方收藏」，以及松方幸次郎的功績，並向國內外推廣「擁有世界遺產的城鎮台東區」的魅力。
