To celebrate the 20th birthday of the Sapporo City Waterworks Bureau's official character, Wappy, Wappy has been appointed as the "Sapporo Water PR Chief," and an appointment ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

At the appointment ceremony, the Sapporo City Waterworks Administrator presented Wappy with the appointment letter for "Sapporo Water PR Chief." Wappy was also commended for their significant contributions to promoting the Sapporo City Waterworks over the past 20 years since their birth, and words of expectation were expressed for their future endeavors.

Upon receiving the appointment letter, Wappy, adorned with a special pink sash, expressed their enthusiasm and joy for becoming the PR Chief with their entire being.
