Numazu City, home to historical sites related to the Odawara Hojo clan—who ruled Kanto for five generations and one hundred years during the Sengoku period, including the renowned "Nagahama Castle Ruins" famous as the base of the Hojo navy—is a member of the "Hojo Godai Tourism Promotion Council." This council comprises administrations and tourism associations from 12 cities and 2 towns associated with the Hojo clan. Its objective is to widely introduce the history and culture of the Hojo clan throughout Japan through tourism projects and to contribute to regional revitalization.
