Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, has introduced 'Furusato Oen Nouzei®' (provided by DMC aizu Co., Ltd.), a new on-site payment-style hometown tax donation program, starting Monday, June 1, 2026. This service enables visitors to make donations instantly via smartphone, with e-coupons issued as thank-you gifts that can be used immediately during their stay.
Unlike traditional hometown tax donations where physical gifts are delivered to donors’ homes, this new system allows visitors who actually come to the region to support local communities through experiential consumption ('koto') and receive benefits on the spot.
The city is launching this service to allow visitors from outside the city to directly experience the charm of Nogata while easily supporting it through hometown tax donations.
This initiative aims to increase visitor exchange and directly stimulate the local economy.
First Implementation at 'Nishinihon Country Club', the City’s Only Golf Course
As the first phase of service rollout, the program will begin at 'Nishinihon Country Club' (1356-2 Oaza Nakazumi, Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture), the only golf course within the city.
Golfers visiting the course can make donations on-site via smartphone and apply the issued e-coupons toward green fees or food and beverage purchases within the facility. The entire process takes approximately five minutes, enabling seamless use during leisure activities.
