Oyodo River Space Opens Up! Private Business Operations like Food Trucks and Events Permitted from April 2026

Miyazaki City will implement the "Opening of the River Space" on April 1, 2026, in the river space (urban park) of the Oyodo River, which is loved by citizens.

Until now, the occupation of the riverbed was restricted to public entities in principle, and business activities by private operators were not permitted. Now, based on the national government's deregulation, the city requested the opening, and the river administrator designated it as an "Urban and Regional Regeneration Utilization Zone." This makes it possible for private businesses to conduct business activities such as food and beverage sales in food trucks and events.

### Creating the Bustle of a Waterside Living Room In the river space of the Oyodo River, social experiments (such as "Oyodo River Living" and "Oyodo River Fest") aimed at creating a bustling waterside space have been conducted 12 times since 2019. Through these trials, the need for "dining and relaxing by the water" was confirmed. Therefore, the opening is being implemented with the aim of creating a bustling river space and improving the convenience for park users.
