Comment from Ichigo Corporation
Miyakonojo City is known for being the top in Japan for the hometown tax and is a leading municipality in promoting regional revitalization through agriculture, livestock, local industries, and public-private partnerships. Last year, we concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with Miyazaki United FC and have deepened our collaboration in various areas such as sports promotion and tourism. At the recent official match at Croki Stadium, we had a record attendance of 8,389 people, and we felt the unity and excitement of the region. We will continue to contribute to the further development of Miyakonojo City and Miyazaki Prefecture.
[Reference] What is the Corporate Version of the Hometown Tax?
The corporate version of the hometown tax is a system in which, when a company donates to a local creation project implemented by a local public entity certified by the national government, the tax amount is deducted from corporate-related taxes.
In fiscal year 2020, the system was significantly revised to further enhance and strengthen local creation. As a result, combined with the reduction effect of 30% of the donation amount through the inclusion of losses, up to approximately 90% of the donation amount can be reduced. For example, if you donate 10 million yen, up to approximately 9 million yen of corporate-related taxes will be reduced.
