Water play area opens at Minamiashigara Sports Park on Saturday, April 25

In Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, we have improved the city sports park as part of a project to create attractive outdoor play areas. In March 2025 (Reiwa 7), Phase 1 of the construction was completed, renewing the playground area by installing inclusive play equipment.

Now, as Phase 2, a water play area has been constructed near the gateball court area.

[A safe water play area to familiarize with water] A 'water play area' where children can safely interact with water has been completed near the gateball court area. Designed with shallow water, it is easy for even small children to use. It is a relaxing spot where visitors can easily feel cool on hot summer days.

Overview of the water play area 1. Equipment (1) Length: Approx. 30 meters (2) Width: Approx. 1.5 meters (3) Depth: Approx. 4 centimeters (4) Number of fountains: 8 units

2. Usage Period From the 4th Saturday of April to the end of September every year * Excluding park closed days

3. Usage Hours From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

5. Notes (1) Preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian. (2) Usage while naked, in regular diapers, or in underwear is not allowed. Please wear a swimsuit or water-play pants (swim diapers). (3) Pets are not allowed. (4) Usage may be suspended or restricted due to inclement weather, temperature drops, facility inspections, etc. (5) Please observe other facility rules and be considerate of others while using the area.
