Next Change in Decades? Kitahiroshima City Starts Recruiting Country Sign Designs from April 1st!

Kitahiroshima City in Hokkaido will celebrate its 30th anniversary as a city in September 2026. To mark this milestone and further enhance the city's recognition, we are recruiting designs for new country signs that represent the current Kitahiroshima City, starting from April 1st!

Along with the recruitment, we will explain the rules, selection methods, and prizes.

What kind of country sign is good?

A country sign is a signboard that combines illustrations of a city/town/village's famous places, special products, etc., with the name of the city/town/village. It is installed at the boundaries of municipalities to help people recognize which municipality they have entered while driving, and to understand the characteristics of that town at a glance, thereby playing a role in promoting tourism.

For the country signs that Kitahiroshima City is recruiting this time, we are also looking for country sign designs that can represent Kitahiroshima City. Please create your design based on the following two conditions:

- The design must be suitable as a country sign for Kitahiroshima City.
- It must be an illustration of a famous product, famous place, or special product that can promote Kitahiroshima City.
