Kawasaki City and NEC Pro Bono Club will co-host a hands-on workshop using Minecraft for elementary school students. Children will design their vision of 'Future Kawasaki' in a virtual space, integrating real urban challenges into creative solutions.

Kawasaki City, in collaboration with NEC Pro Bono Club, will host an experiential event titled 'Minecraft Workshop' for elementary school students on Monday, July 20, 2026 (a national holiday), at NEC's Tamagawa Facility.

This event goes beyond programming experience, allowing children to learn about real urban challenges in Kawasaki—such as demographic trends—and then use their own ideas to create a 'Future Kawasaki City' in a virtual environment. The initiative aims to incorporate the next generation’s free-thinking and diverse values into future urban planning, helping to build a vibrant and attractive city for years to come.

The project was realized by adopting a public proposal (open-type) submitted by NEC Pro Bono Club through Kawasaki City’s public-private collaboration hub, 'Kawasaki Future Co-Lab'.
