The Kawasaki City Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau conducted a "Nighttime Comprehensive Drainage Drill" on Friday, April 24, Reiwa 8, at the Suwa Drainage Sluice Pipe. The purpose of this drill was to enhance the city's response capabilities for heavy rain in preparation for the flood season starting in June. Learning from the flood damage caused by the 2019 East Japan Typhoon, the city has been conducting these drills along the Tama River. The training involved 50 bureau staff and 20 cooperating business personnel, covering various tasks from pump vehicle deployment to information sharing, all coordinated online across multiple locations.
