Kameoka City in Kyoto Prefecture has announced a digital stamp rally exclusively for those registered in its 'Furusato (Hometown) Resident Registration System'. Having launched the system on March 9, 2026, one year ahead of the national program, the city quickly surpassed 1,000 registrants in just a month and a half. To celebrate, a stamp rally will be held from April 25 to June 14, 2026. Non-resident participants can use a smartphone app to visit 15 checkpoints across the city to collect stamps. By participating, they enter a lottery to win local specialties like Kameoka Beef, Kyoto Sanga F.C. merchandise, or 20,000-yen accommodation vouchers for Yunohana Onsen. This initiative aims to encourage non-residents to experience Kameoka as their 'second hometown'.
