Itabashi City will launch two new subsidy programs, the "Child-rearing Household Housing Renovation Support Project" and the "Multi-generational Relocation Support Project," starting in fiscal year 2026. These initiatives aim to promote a living environment where child-rearing families can continue to live in Itabashi City with peace of mind.
The City has formulated the "Housing Future Vision 2035," a basic plan for housing and living environments, which sets "creating homes where child-rearing households can live with peace of mind" as one of its goals. In light of the fact that more families in their 30s and 40s move out of the ward than move in, the city aims to create an environment where child-rearing households can smoothly secure homes by promoting renovations of existing houses and supporting relocations that enable multi-generational living (living near or with parents).
For both subsidy programs, the households, housing, and construction work must meet all specified conditions. Additionally, a prior application to the City is required to receive the subsidy, and the program will end once the budget reaches its limit.
