Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, a leading producer of Sayama tea—one of Japan's three most famous teas—will hold a 'Sayama Tea Day' commemorative event on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Iruma City Museum ALIT.
This year, 'SYOKO Marche Iruma,' organized by the Iruma City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held concurrently for the first time.
Furthermore, the event will mark the general sale launch of 'Sayama Tea Udon' (limited to 500 units), a new product developed through industry-academia-government collaboration to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the city's incorporation. Lifesize panels of characters from the anime 'Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun,' currently featured in a popular collaborative tour in the city, will also be on display.
Other diverse programs include fresh green tea servings by Iruma City Tea Ambassadors, demonstrations of riding tea harvesters, tea-themed workshops, and a commemorative tea ceremony, all designed to highlight the charm of Sayama tea.
Event Highlights
