Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, in collaboration with The University of Tokyo Graduate Schools, will hold "AI Class & Programming Class 2026" for elementary and junior high school students. Participants will experience cutting-edge learning and also have the opportunity to tour the Hongo Campus of The University of Tokyo, providing a chance to boost children's motivation to learn.

A course to learn programming using the small computer "micro:bit".

A course to learn "Python", a programming language widely used for artificial intelligence programs and more.

A course to learn about the impact of AI on society and daily life, and to experience AI firsthand.

Following the classes, a tour of The University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus is also planned. This will not only foster learning but also serve as an opportunity to envision "future possibilities".

(2) Programming Class for Junior High School Students 2026

Date & Time: August 2 (Sun) 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Reserve Date: August 29 (Sat))

Target Audience: Junior high school students residing in or attending school in Ichihara City

Capacity: 10 groups (Lottery if applications exceed capacity)

Participation Fee: ¥4,500 (incl. tax) (Materials fee)

(3) Introduction to AI Class for Junior High School Students 2026

Date & Time: August 8 (Sat) 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Reserve Date: September 5 (Sat))

Target Audience: Junior high school students residing in or attending school in Ichihara City
