On March 8, the Ministry of the Environment announced the results of the survey on the status of general waste emissions and disposal in fiscal year 2024. Hino City ranked first in the nation for the third consecutive year in the category of "per capita daily garbage emissions" among municipalities with a population between 100,000 and 500,000.

Thanks to the cooperation of our citizens in reducing garbage, we were able to decrease the amount of garbage by 7.8g compared to the previous fiscal year.

Since the garbage reform in 2000, the city has implemented various reduction measures such as "Introduction of Designated Paid Garbage Bags," "My Bag Campaign," "Reduction of Raw Garbage," and "Separate Collection of Plastics," and continues to do so to this day.

We will continue to work sustainably towards the realization of a "circular, zero-waste society."
