A public-participation trail maintenance program will be held at Mt. Tengai in Kamioka-cho, Hida City. The main point of this project is to use the funds from a crowdfunding campaign that reached its first goal (3 million yen) in March to purchase maintenance materials, allowing participants to protect the mountain's safety and natural environment with their own hands. With the slogan 'a mountain you want to visit again,' this initiative aims to be a model case for new mountain building, shifting from government-led efforts to sustainable trail conservation in cooperation with the local community and the private sector. The 360-degree view from the summit, overlooking the main peaks of the Northern Alps, Tateyama mountain range, Mt. Ontake, and Mt. Hakusan, is popular. The event will be held on June 6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun) from 8:00 to 12:30, meeting at the Okuhida Yamanomura Ranch parking lot. The capacity is 20 people per day, and the participation fee is 2,000 yen. Tasks include carrying boards and stakes, assembling trail steps, and mowing grass. There are no quotas, and work proceeds at a comfortable pace. Participants can also climb to the summit after the work if they wish.
