The Shizuoka Prefectural Police newly joined the operation of the smartphone app 'Lorcle,' which gathers regional information published by local governments, media, and businesses, on the 10th. With the participation of the prefectural police, all 35 municipalities within Shizuoka Prefecture become part of the service area. The area now covers 588 municipalities across 17 prefectures nationwide, plus Los Angeles, USA, delivering familiar topics and useful daily life information. The app is free for anyone to use.
Lorcle is a system that combines and publishes regional information from local governments, businesses, and organizations. Police departments in various regions also participate, promptly delivering measures to avoid involvement in crimes and information on incidents occurring in different areas.
Lorcle is operated by Chunichi Shimbun Co., Ltd. (Nagoya City), which publishes newspapers such as the Chunichi Shimbun and Tokyo Shimbun. Launched in April 2024 in the three Tokai prefectures of Aichi, Gifu, and Mie, the service area has expanded to the Tokyo metropolitan and Kansai areas. As of early April 2026, it is utilized by approximately 110 local governments and about 200 businesses and organizations.
Since late March, a new digital circular board function has been implemented, receiving numerous applications from neighborhood associations, resident groups, and organizations across the country.

= Total 31 municipalities *Hamamatsu City, Iwata City, Omaezaki City, and Mori Town were already in the service area.
On Lorcle, users can view various information for free and receive updates not only for their residential area but also for other regions of interest. There are pages featuring topics like leisure and gourmet food, and pages displaying event information on a map or calendar. Local governments and businesses will post familiar events, tourism info, administrative procedures, and emergency information like disasters on their respective pages. User numbers are growing as electronic coupons are distributed and gift campaigns are held continuously.
