Notice of "SBT Certification Acquisition" by Nippon Tokushu Rozai Co., Ltd.

Chugoku Bank (Head Office: Okayama City; President: Sadanori Kato) launched its "Chugin Decarbonization Consulting" service (※1) on August 18, 2022, to support customers' efforts toward decarbonization.

We are pleased to announce that through this service, Nippon Tokushu Rozai Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has calculated its Scope 1 and Scope 2 (※3) greenhouse gas emissions based on the GHG Protocol (※2), and its set reduction targets have acquired SBT (※4) certification (for SMEs).

The Bank will continue to provide ongoing support to the Company, including offering various solution menus, to help achieve the reduction targets it has set.

(※3) Scope 1: Direct greenhouse gas emissions by the business operator itself (e.g., fuel combustion)

(※4) Abbreviation for Science Based Targets, which are corporate greenhouse gas reduction targets scientifically consistent with the Paris Agreement.
