chom Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Emiri Nozaki) will exhibit at "Startup Japan EXPO 2026," a trade show held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday, April 15th to Thursday, April 16th, 2026.
Our company is addressing the challenges of excessive packaging and disposable packaging in the apparel industry by developing "Looplet," a reusable packaging box that achieves "de-individual packaging (OPP bags)."
At the exhibition, we will showcase the actual product and conduct demonstrations, offering consultations on implementation and seeking partners for pilot projects and collaborations with apparel companies and logistics operators.
■ Challenges of Excessive Packaging and Operational Burden in the Apparel Industry
In the apparel industry, disposable packaging materials such as OPP bags and cardboard are widely used for maintaining product quality and distribution efficiency. However, issues such as the burden of unpacking work and the disposal of large amounts of waste are becoming apparent at stores and logistics sites.
Particularly in store backyards, many manual tasks are involved in unpacking, displaying, and inventory management upon arrival, increasing the operational load amidst labor shortages. Furthermore, logistics warehouses also face challenges such as individualized work efficiency and labor shortages, necessitating optimization across the entire supply chain.
■ Mechanism of Circular Logistics with Looplet
Looplet is not merely a packaging material; it is designed as a circular logistics system that assumes collection and reuse.
After products are stored in Looplet and shipped from the warehouse, they are utilized directly in store backyards or sales floors. After use, Looplet is collected and returned to the warehouse. The collected Looplet is then re-integrated into circulation after necessary maintenance.
To support this series of cycles, Looplet is designed to include an operational and management system, functioning not as a one-time material use but as a continuously circulating logistics infrastructure. This enables a shift from conventional disposable logistics to a new form of distribution where materials circulate continuously.
■ Exhibition to Feature Product Display, Implementation Consultations, and Partner Recruitment
At the exhibition, we will conduct actual product displays, offer consultations on implementation, and recruit collaborative partners.
