What is the Chiba Prefecture PR Study Group: Local Government PR Department? Among local governments in the prefecture, horizontal connections between PR officials are weak, and opportunities to share advanced examples and effective methods from other municipalities are limited. As a result, in today's world where media is diversifying and target audiences are becoming more segmented, there is an issue that know-how, which tends to be accumulated by individuals, is difficult to inherit across the entire organization, and by extension, the entire local government in the prefecture.
Therefore, the Chiba Prefecture PR Study Group launched the "Local Government PR Department" in January 2026 with the aim of improving the PR capabilities of local governments in the prefecture by sharing knowledge, techniques, and ways of thinking useful for general PR practices, enhancing the PR mindset of participants, and leading to the resolution of their daily worries and challenges. Moving forward, we plan to continue holding various projects designed to solve the issues faced by local government PR.

The characteristics of the Local Government PR Department are as follows: (1) Sharing PR know-how through a "living information platform" In the "Local Government PR Department," we share a wide range of knowledge related to administrative PR, from practical skills such as interviewing, photography, and writing, to PR strategies and media relations. Regardless of the framework of municipalities, by bringing together successful and failed examples from various fields and learning together, you can gain hints to apply to your daily PR activities.
(2) Solving issues and improving mindset through interaction with "reliable peers" We will build a community that transcends organizational boundaries to improve the mindset and skills to shine as an "all-round PR person." We provide a place where not only the PR department but also staff with worries and issues regarding information dissemination can speak candidly, and we will explore solutions together. We aim for an "open community" that respects the motivation to learn about PR!
(3) Pursuing "ideal local government PR" to mobilize the region We aim for each participant to pursue "communicative PR" and acquire the ability to put it into practice in their respective fields. Our basic philosophy is to foster "ideal local government PR" where information naturally spreads and the region begins to act on its own, emerging from the trusting relationships built through PR.
