Many donated wheelchairs exist in public facilities within the prefecture. However, many were poorly maintained and could not be used when needed. As one of our volunteer activities to address this local issue, our service staff, who usually maintain cars, along with store staff and headquarters staff volunteers, perform wheelchair maintenance.

To date, we have maintained 8 wheelchairs owned by Shiroko Town, Chiba Prefecture, and 18 wheelchairs used at the Chiba City Disability Welfare Center in Chiba Prefecture.

To help those who need wheelchairs expand their range of activities, we will continue this activity in various locations within the prefecture, utilizing our company resources to contribute to the community.

■"Joy of Driving for Everyone" with SeDV (Self-empowerment Driving Vehicle) with Manual Driving Devices

SeDV (Self-empowerment Driving Vehicle) is a "car that can be driven only with hands," allowing easy switching between manual and regular driving functions by installing special equipment in a standard car, enabling friends and family to enjoy driving alternately.

We support a wheelchair rugby club team in Chiba City for their public matches, exhibiting the SeDV (Self-empowerment Driving Vehicle) at the venue and holding experience sessions where players and participants could actually operate the car. This model, equipped with manual driving devices, is Mazda's challenge to achieve "joy of driving for everyone," designed to allow driving enjoyment without compromising the Mazda car's design, simply by adding equipment.
