CHEERS Inc. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Tomoko Shirai), which aims to realize a society where "all children can be excited about the present and the future" and provides experiential opportunities to children nationwide, will hold "FUN+TECH DAY!", a career and technology experience event for children, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Sagamihara City Industrial Hall, in collaboration with Tokai Railway Company (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative: Shunsuke Niwa; hereinafter "JR Central") and its innovation promotion base "FUN+TECH LABO."
This event is based on the concept of "creating a community where companies, schools, and local communities (children) gather and co-create for a better future and regional development." It is a project that promotes the improvement of value in the area around the station and urban development, triggered by the establishment of the provisional Linear Kanagawa Station.
Various manufacturing companies and companies with technologies that support society, which are concentrated in the Sagamihara region, will cooperate to provide children with a place to experience "technology (TECH)" "fun (FUN)."
Background and Purpose of the Event
Sagamihara City has been designated as a "Sagamihara Robot Industry Special Zone" and has an innovation foundation where manufacturing companies with excellent technology and research institutions are concentrated.
FUN+TECH DAY! leverages the regional characteristics of Sagamihara to create opportunities for children to experience various manufacturing and technologies that support society. By sharing exciting experiences using technology (tech) together, adults and children are expected to raise awareness of the Linear Station area and contribute to branding Sagamihara as a "City of TECH."
Project Features
This initiative not only supports children's career development but also has the primary objectives of "future urban development" and "branding the area around the station."
Starting from the innovation promotion base "FUN+TECH LABO," JR Central, local companies, local organizations, and people living in the region will connect, aiming to create a regional co-creation model built together by the entire community.
By allowing children to experience the high technological capabilities of companies contributing to regional development with fun and surprise, the project aims to enhance the pride and attachment (civic pride) of citizens living in cities along the Linear Shinkansen route and contribute to improving the value of these cities and the Chuo Shinkansen.
