What is the "Midori Saisai Project"?

It is about viewing two major social issues as resources and creating new value.

That is the "Midori Saisai Project."

■ Background: Two Social Issues

In this project, we view the following social issues as opportunities for creating new value.

Issue 1: Increase in Abandoned Farmland

Abandoned farmland is increasing due to the aging population and depopulation in rural areas.

Nationwide, it is increasing by approximately 400,000 hectares (more than twice the size of Osaka Prefecture).

・Issue 2: Low Wages for People with Disabilities

Employment for people with disabilities is often limited to "simple tasks" or "repetitive tasks," making it difficult to find work that utilizes their potential and individuality. The current situation is characterized by low wages and limited job choices.

■ Initiatives

Initiatives in Okinawa and Kyoto

・Initiative 1: Seedling Cultivation in Kyotanabe City, Kyoto Prefecture

We are growing "Saisai Coffee" seedlings with children from the after-school day service we operate. Planting seeds and watering them. Afterwards, the joy of seeing them sprout and the affection that grows from watching the seedlings develop fosters a sense of responsibility as they regularly care for the seedlings.

・Initiative 2: Coffee Cultivation in Higashi Village, Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture

We are cultivating "red" and "yellow" Arabica coffee varieties at our "Okinawa Saisai Farm" (5,600 tsubo) in Higashi Village, Kunigami District, Okinawa.

Coffee takes about 4 years to harvest. We are committed to pesticide-free, organic cultivation of domestic coffee amidst the rich nature of Yanbaru.

The bright red fruits are called "coffee cherries."

The yellow fruits are particularly rare and highly anticipated by many.

■ Recruitment of Owners (Co-producers)

~ Creating a village (farm) where everyone can work! Sowing seeds for the future connected by domestic coffee!! ~

We are looking for owners of the "coffee trees" being grown at Okinawa Saisai Farm!!

Would you like to enjoy a special "experience" with us?

The daily care of "Saisai Coffee" will be lovingly handled by the farm staff. Owners are invited to experience special events (agricultural experiences, harvesting experiences, harvest festivals, etc.) with us. The valuable learning unique to Yanbaru, Okinawa, and encounters with wild animals will be a priceless experience.

The information delivered from the farm will include not only happy reports such as "It has grown big! This year's harvest is abundant!" but also realities such as the ravages of natural disasters and the effects of climate change. As companions who share both joys and hardships, we are looking for fellow enthusiasts to savor the new beans and converse at the harvest festival. The toast at the harvest festival will, of course, be with "Saisai Coffee." Coffee grown together through thick and thin is undoubtedly the most delicious coffee in the world.

■ Purpose and Message of Crowdfunding

We want many people to know about the "Midori Saisai Project."

After four years, preparations for the farm's start are finally complete.

We plan to begin accepting employment this autumn.

Currently, we are expanding and developing the farm, and we want to recruit companions to work together on this project.

We kindly ask for your support and assistance.
