Cosmo Energy Holdings Holds Fiscal 2026 Entrance Ceremony

Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. (President: Shigeru Yamada) is pleased to announce that it held the entrance ceremony for fiscal 2026.

At the entrance ceremony, the Cosmo Energy Group came together to welcome new employees from various affiliated companies. Marking the 40th anniversary of its founding, the theme was to foster a deeper sense of unity and understanding of the group's policies, while passing on its legacy to the next generation.

President Shigeru Yamada's address was streamed live online to group companies, expressing a warm welcome to all new employees across the organization.

Following the ceremony, a joint welcome party was held at the same venue to share the 40-year history and group synergy.

Today is a significant day as you take your first step as professionals, and it is also a commemorative day for the Cosmo Energy Group as we mark our 40th anniversary. First, I would like to talk about the current energy environment and our mission.

As you know, fighting surrounding Iran has continued in the Middle East since late February, with no signs of ending. About 20% of the world's crude oil, 60% of Asia's, and over 90% of Japan's requirements are produced in the Middle East. With the strategic Strait of Hormuz effectively blockaded, the world faces great anxiety over energy supply, affecting social and economic stability.

In this situation, we must fulfill our mission: 'The continuous supply of energy.' As a pillar of Japan's energy supply, we are committed to ensuring stable supply even under severe conditions.

The work you will do is the very 'foundation' supporting society's safety, daily life, and industry. I want you to face your work with 'pride,' as well as a sense of 'tension' and 'responsibility' for supporting society.

Let us reaffirm our Group Management Philosophy: 'In striving for harmony and symbiosis between the planet, man and society, we aim for sustainable growth towards a future of limitless possibilities.'

This is not just a slogan. It contains our 'will' to create new value while valuing harmony between the environment, energy, and society. Our phrase 'Filling Your Heart, Too' (Kokoro mo Mantan ni) reflects our desire to deliver not just products, but also 'peace of mind' and 'trust.'

Next, I want to talk about the six values we defined in 2024: 'Integrity,' 'Symbiosis,' 'Safety,' 'Challenge,' 'Initiative,' and 'Evolution.'

First, 'Integrity' means doing the right thing. In the energy business, trust is life. Small dishonesties can lead to major accidents. Always be honest with your work.

Second, 'Symbiosis' means creating value together with colleagues, communities, and partners. Team strength comes from mutual support.

Third, 'Safety' precedes everything. It is our pride and competitive edge. I want you to be people who can say 'This is dangerous' without hesitation.

The next three are for carving out the future. 'Challenge' is about taking even small steps for improvement. 'Initiative' means finding issues and acting without waiting for orders. 'Evolution' is the mindset of making things better day by day.

Use your energy as youth to embody these values. Your fresh perspectives can lead to our growth.

As I mentioned, the Middle East crisis highlights the importance of stable supply. We need your strength to fulfill our mission. Embody these six values in your daily actions.
