Tachikawa City, Tokyo to Participate in Carbon Credit Creation Support Project Using Program-Type Projects Operated by Bywill

Bywill Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Yuichiro Shimomura; hereinafter "Bywill"), which aims to create a world where people want to engage in GX (Green Transformation) and promotes economic circulation through environmental value, has been selected as an accredited operator for the "Carbon Credit Creation Support Project Using Program-Type Projects" promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This project consolidates CO2 emission reduction activities by small and medium-sized enterprises and local governments within Tokyo and promotes their conversion into J-Credits.

We are pleased to announce that Tachikawa City, Tokyo (Mayor: Hiroshi Sakai; hereinafter "Tachikawa City") will participate in the J-Credit creation program for LED lighting, "Kiraki Lab."

The energy-saving effects of LED lighting installed in the city hall main building will be converted into J-Credits (*1). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these J-Credits will be returned to Tachikawa City, contributing to the realization of a "new regional decarbonization model" that utilizes these funds as a financial resource for further environmental measures in the region.

*1: J-Credits are certified by the Japanese government as "credits" for the amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gas emission reductions or absorptions achieved through decarbonization activities by businesses, such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment or the use of renewable energy.

The "Carbon Credit Creation Support Project Using Program-Type Projects" promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is an initiative that consolidates CO2 emission reduction activities by small and medium-sized enterprises and local governments within Tokyo and promotes their conversion into J-Credits.

Its purpose is to revitalize the creation of environmental value and credit trading, and to build a sustainable ecosystem where investment for decarbonization circulates.
