Kanie Town, Aichi Prefecture and ByWill Sign Partnership Agreement on Environmental Value

ByWill Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuichiro Shimomura; hereinafter referred to as "ByWill"), which promotes economic circulation utilizing environmental value with the aim of creating a world where "GX becomes desirable," has signed a partnership agreement on environmental value with Kanie Town, Aichi Prefecture (Mayor: Junichi Yokoe; hereinafter referred to as "Kanie Town").

Based on this agreement, both parties will work on the creation and distribution of environmental value, including J-Credits (*1), and the creation of new business models.

*1: J-Credit is a system certified by the government where reductions or absorptions of greenhouse gas emissions, such as CO2, achieved through decarbonization activities by businesses, such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment and the utilization of renewable energy, are recognized as "credits." Issued credits can be sold to other companies, and purchasers can use them for carbon offsets.

【Agreement Details】

Both parties will cooperate on the following matters with the aim of contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality and a circular economy in the region.

　(1) Provision of information, services, know-how, etc., related to environmental value

　(2) Creation of new business models utilizing environmental value

　(3) Other matters that the parties deem to contribute to the objectives of this agreement

【Background of the Agreement】

Kanie Town formulated the "3rd Kanie Town Global Warming Countermeasures Execution Plan (Administrative Business Edition)" in March 2025, which outlines measures against global warming for Kanie Town's administrative business until fiscal year 2030. To achieve this, initiatives such as reducing electricity consumption in public facilities and replacing official vehicles with electric vehicles are being implemented.

This partnership agreement has been reached to promote the creation and utilization of J-Credits, which is a new initiative for Kanie Town.

【Future Outlook】

With the aim of decarbonizing Kanie Town, both parties will cooperate to promote the creation and distribution of J-Credits. Regarding the creation method (methodology) for J-Credits, we are considering starting with the introduction of LED equipment, and thereafter, we plan to expand to creation using other methodologies.

ByWill will seamlessly support Kanie Town from the registration and application of J-Credit creation projects to monitoring and the sale of created credits. Furthermore, regarding sales, we will promote the decarbonization of Kanie Town and surrounding regions through "local production for local consumption."
