Bunkamura (Shibuya, Tokyo), which has been a complex cultural facility disseminating a wide range of culture and arts since its opening in 1989, is currently closed except for Orchard Hall.

We see this closure period as an opportunity to take on new challenges with free thinking, and we will continue to create and disseminate culture and arts that move people's hearts, which Bunkamura has cherished, while also expanding our scope of activities.

Please look forward to "Bunkamura Challenge," which embodies our desire to weave stories that lead to a richer tomorrow through inspiration.

【Music & Dance】

2026 marks the countdown year to the closure of Orchard Hall. We will create a memorable season with both "Bunkamura Produce" projects, already being developed in various external halls, and beloved classic projects held at home.

First, the piano-playing brother duo, Lucas & Arthur Jussen, a must-see for piano fans. Having finally debuted with the Berlin Philharmonic in February this year, expectations are high for their performance, which conveys the authentic "now." Comparing their performance with the once-in-a-lifetime duo of Keigo Mukawa & Wataru Hisasue in September will be a highlight. For the NHK Symphony Orchestra Orchard Regular Concert "Toyoko Series," chief conductor Fabio Luisi will appear in Yokohama in April. Mahler's Symphony No. 5, of the highest global standard, is a must-hear. In June, as a milestone marking the final performance of this series at Orchard Hall, Keitaro Harada, who was mentored by J. Williams himself, will conduct famous pieces such as 'Star Wars' and 'E.T.' with the NHK Symphony Orchestra sound resonating through the hall. And the new dance work by Marcos Morau, one of the most watched choreographers in the world today, Marcos Joruri 'Kinkakuji,' is a world-class talked-about work that will transport the audience to another dimension.

Please look forward to Bunkamura's music and dance projects from spring to summer.

【Theater】

The first half of fiscal year 2026 will feature a wide range of three genres of works connected to Theater Cocoon's past initiatives.

First, in May, the second "Kabukicho Dai Kabuki" following 2024. Ichikawa Chusha and Danji, father and son, will take on the Sawamuraya's specialty, a first collaboration for Bunkamura, with highlights including a grand spectacle of aerial stunts at THEATER MILANO-Za and a collaboration with "Koekabu." It's heartwarming to see Chusha-san, who once appeared in Yukio Ninagawa's 'The Cherry Orchard' at Theater Cocoon.

In June, as part of the DISCOVER WORLD THEATRE series celebrating its 10th year, Jonathan Munby's 'Wendy & Peter Pan' will be staged. A fantastical world combining art, visuals, music, flying, dance, and action, along with a profound story that teaches the bitterness of life, will be delivered with a dazzling new cast.

And 'The Dictator by the Sea' is Suzuki Matsuo's first challenge in a dance performance. What kind of stage expression will emerge from the unit "Super Matsuyasu" with choreographer and dancer Masako Yasumoto, who has ties to Bunkamura? Unforeseen developments are expected.

Enjoy an entertainment-rich lineup that, despite different tastes, connects through flying and physical expression.

【Art - Exhibitions】

From activities in the current exhibition space to a new stage of expansion and relocation. The Museum is now in a sure run-up for its next leap. 'Miracle of the Gaze: Adventures of Japanese Women Photographers' is an unprecedented exhibition bringing together works by a total of 30 women photographers who have transcended the framework of "photography" and expressed themselves through diverse approaches. Our museum, which has walked a path dedicated to weaving encounters with art from a unique perspective, deeply resonates with the relentless pursuit of artists who adhere to unwavering beliefs and continue to express themselves, and strongly feels the significance of holding this exhibition now. This summer, in the swirling individuality of Shibuya, we sincerely hope that countless questions and gazes will intersect through this exhibition, leading to new dialogues and creations.
