Hayate Tanaka (beach soccer), an athlete employee of Beads International Inc. — a company based in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, operating streetwear brands such as "XLARGE," "X-girl," "MILKFED.," and "SILAS," and led by President Yusaku Nishigami — recently paid a courtesy visit to Chigasaki City Hall.

Born in Chigasaki City, Tanaka has served as the city's Sports Ambassador since June 2025. In addition, he runs the "DELTA Chigasaki Beach Soccer School" in his hometown, actively promoting the sport and nurturing the next generation while continuing to compete at the professional level.

During the visit, Tanaka reported that the DELTA Chigasaki Beach Soccer School recently participated in the beach soccer tournament "Cleansa Cup 2026," and introduced the XLARGE-branded bibs worn during the event. He also presented Mayor Sato with the team's bib featuring Chigasaki City's official emblem.

Tanaka, who is also dedicated to beach clean-up activities, shared his thoughts and future vision: "Before our beach soccer school sessions, we conduct clean-up activities to help children develop a sense of ownership over 'our beach.' Additionally, about 70 to 80 percent of beach litter originates from urban areas. Moving forward, I hope to expand our efforts to include street clean-ups, so that we can protect our local coastline as an entire community."

Born May 11, 2000, in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Began playing soccer in kindergarten, progressed through the youth ranks of J.League club Yokohama F. Marinos (Yokohama F. Marinos Junior Youth Oiwake), and played at Kanto Daiichi High School, a renowned high school soccer powerhouse. He switched to beach soccer upon entering university and currently plays for Tokyo Verdy Beach Soccer (Tokyo Verdy BS) as an Ala. As a key member of one of Japan's top clubs, he has contributed to numerous championship victories. Selected for the Japanese national beach soccer team for the first time in 2021, he has since represented Japan in international competitions and friendly matches against top nations, and is regarded as one of the players expected to lead the future of Japanese beach soccer. In addition to serving as Chigasaki City's Sports Ambassador, he runs the "DELTA Chigasaki Beach Soccer School," expanding his activities to promote the sport and develop young talent.
