Mother and Child Health Handbook App "Boshimo" Launches in Taiji Town, Wakayama Prefecture!

Boshimo Co., Ltd. announced that its mother and child health handbook app, "Boshimo," has been adopted by Taiji Town, Higashimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture, and will be available starting Wednesday, July 1st.

"Boshimo," which allows digital recording of paper mother and child health handbook data and is used in over 880 municipalities, has been selected. This adoption aligns with the Child and Family Agency's policy to promote the use of electronic mother and child health handbooks and advance maternal and child health DX (digital transformation), with operations commencing based on this initiative.

"Boshimo" is an app that easily supports the management of vaccination schedules and health checkup results, as well as the distribution of local information, via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Data is stored in the cloud, serving as a backup in case of loss of the mother and child health handbook due to disasters. It also supports continued use when moving to another municipality or changing devices, ensuring peace of mind for users.

Taiji Town provides a congratulatory birth payment of 300,000 yen for each child born in the town. This celebrates the birth of a child, supports their healthy growth, and contributes to creating an environment where parents can raise their children with peace of mind.

Furthermore, to support parents through the anxieties and concerns of pregnancy and child-rearing, the "Taiji Town Comprehensive Child-Rearing Support Center" has been established, with public health nurses and other professionals providing consultations. They offer broad support for issues such as development, breastfeeding, and communication, collaborating with specialists and relevant organizations as needed to support child-rearing families.

To make the town's initiatives more accessible to child-rearing families, "Boshimo" has been adopted as a new tool for disseminating child-rearing information.

It offers a wealth of convenient features to assist busy mothers and fathers juggling childcare and work, including recording and managing health data for pregnant women and children, managing vaccination schedules, providing advice on childbirth and child-rearing, sharing functions with family members such as grandparents living far away, and notifying users of local information distributed by the town.

"Dekiyō Kinenbi" (Milestone Memories), which can be used as a child-rearing diary, is created based on examples from the Child and Family Agency's mother and child health handbook format. It allows users to record milestones in a child's development and child-rearing journey, along with photos and messages, including the "Parent's Record" section of the mother and child health handbook. It also serves as a guide for a child's growth and development.

Moreover, in the event of societal changes due to factors like infectious diseases, the app can instantly deliver important information, such as cautionary notices from the municipality and advice from public health nurses, via text and video to those who need it, supporting an environment where childbirth and child-rearing can be done with peace of mind even in emergencies.
