Boshi-mo, a maternal and child health handbook app operated by Boshi-mo Inc., has been introduced in Tenryu Village, Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture, and will begin service on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Tenryu Village is building a village-wide system to support the growth of each child, who are treasures of the community, by watching over and nurturing them through play and learning in a rich natural environment. This time, "Boshi-mo," which allows paper maternal and child health handbook data to be recorded digitally and has been adopted by over 830 municipalities, was chosen. Its operation will commence in line with the Children and Families Agency's policy*1 to promote the use of electronic maternal and child health handbooks and maternal and child health DX. "Boshi-mo" is an app that easily supports vaccination schedules, health check-up result management, and local information distribution on smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Since data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup in case of loss of the maternal and child health handbook due to disasters, and also supports continuous use when moving to another municipality or changing devices, allowing users to continue using it with peace of mind.
◆ "Boshi-mo" service begins in Tenryu Village, Nagano Prefecture, where a system for village-wide childcare support is being established! In Tenryu Village, based on the idea that it is important for families, nurseries, schools, and the community to cooperate in raising children, the village aims to secure places for children and enhance monitoring systems throughout the village so that children can grow up healthy. As part of this, the village is promoting an environment where childcare can be done with peace of mind, such as implementing the "Tenryu Village After-School Children's Classroom" in cooperation with related organizations to provide support during children's long holidays. Furthermore, the single nursery school in the village offers extended childcare and temporary childcare, as well as free or reduced lunch fees and nursery fees, meticulously meeting the diverse needs of childcare households. This time, "Boshi-mo" was adopted as a new tool for disseminating childcare information, to make the village's initiatives more conveniently accessible to childcare households.
◆ Comprehensive support for pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare with a community-based childcare app! "Boshi-mo," adopted by Tenryu Village, is a service compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. It is equipped with convenient features that help busy mothers and fathers with childcare and work, such as recording and managing health data for pregnant women and children, managing vaccination schedules, providing advice on childbirth and childcare, a sharing function with family members like grandparents living in distant areas, and notifying users of local information distributed by the village. The "Dekitayo Kinenbi" (I Did It Anniversary) feature, which can be used as a childcare diary, was created based on the Children and Families Agency's maternal and child health handbook format examples. It allows users to record developmental stages and childcare-related anniversaries, including the "Parent's Record" from the maternal and child health handbook, with photos and messages, and also serves as a guide for children's growth and development. Furthermore, even when social environmental changes occur due to infectious diseases or other factors, the app can instantly deliver important information such as cautionary notices from the municipality and advice from public health nurses to those who need it via text and video, supporting the creation of an environment where childbirth and childcare can be done with peace of mind even in emergencies.
<Comment from Mr. Seiichi Nagamine, Mayor of Tenryu Village, Nagano Prefecture> Tenryu Village aims to be a village where people can give birth and raise children with peace of mind, and is committed to providing seamless support from pregnancy to childcare. As part of this, we will start using the childcare support app "Boshi-mo" from the Reiwa 8th fiscal year. This app is equipped with many functions, such as recording children's growth and managing vaccination schedules. You can also check village announcements in real-time, so please make use of it. We hope this will help reduce the burden and ensure the safety and security of those who are expecting or raising children.

Our company's vision is to reduce the friction coefficient related to pregnancy and childcare to zero. To achieve this, we are promoting further expansion and collaboration of support areas (prenatal check-ups, vaccinations, infant check-ups, etc.) through "Kosodate DX®"*2, the establishment of an all-in-one stop for childcare-related applications and procedures, and the linkage of maternal and child health information with related organizations (medical, childcare/education, specialized institutions, etc.). Through this, we aim to co-create a "safe and simple" childcare society with local communities, reducing the "anxiety and burden" on parents.
