BOOKOFF Corporation (hereinafter "BOOKOFF"), a subsidiary of BOOKOFF Group Holdings (Headquarters: Sagamihara, Kanagawa; President: Yasutaka Horiuchi) that operates "BOOKOFF" reuse shops, signed a "Partnership Agreement on Regional Revitalization and Promotion of a Circular Society" with Happo Town, Yamamoto District, Akita Prefecture (Mayor: Mitsuya Horiuchi) on March 23, 2026. The agreement aims to promote regional revitalization and a resource-circulating society by leveraging the company's reuse and recycling business model. Through initiatives such as book donations and the 'School BOOKOFF' SDGs and career education program, the partnership will provide reading opportunities and educational support for local children. Additionally, by installing collection boxes for unwanted items at the Happo Town Hall and other facilities, the parties aim to reduce waste and contribute to the sustainable development of the local community.

■ Background of the Agreement
Happo Town faces challenges such as a declining birthrate, an aging population, and the contraction of the local community. BOOKOFF, which upholds the philosophy of "contributing to society through business activities," believed it could provide continuous cooperation to address these local issues by utilizing its reuse business expertise and physical store locations, leading to the conclusion of this partnership agreement.
BOOKOFF believes that increasing opportunities and options for active reuse creates a larger cycle. The company is engaged in initiatives such as donating books to create reading opportunities for children and teach the importance of reuse, developing home-pickup donation services where appraisal values contribute to society, and conducting educational activities to help people learn about and act for a circular society. Aiming to realize a "society without waste," BOOKOFF will contribute as a private enterprise to the local issues faced by Happo Town by utilizing its reuse business to help build a circular society together with the community.
