BookBase Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City) launched a new manga label, 'Dangan Comics,' on March 25, 2026. As the first wave of releases, serialization has begun on Nico Nico Manga for 'Grimm Connect: Red Riding Hood Chapter,' 'Akakuro Paradise Hell Play,' and 'Sengoku Nirvana: Strange Tales.' To commemorate the launch, the first volume of 'Grimm Connect' was released simultaneously with the start of its serialization.
Until now, BookBase has focused its efforts on light novels, primarily through the 'Dangan Bunko' imprint.
As a way to help more people enjoy these works, we have established 'Dangan Comics' in-house, hoping to make a significant impact on the highly competitive manga industry.

[Features of Dangan Comics]
1. An In-House Label Committed to Quality
While manga adaptations are often produced by labels or editorial production companies separate from the original publisher, Dangan Comics handles all production progress and management entirely within our own editorial department.
This enables smooth communication with the original creators and establishes a system that prevents common issues such as communication lapses.
2. Industry-Leading Page Rates
Because we operate directly in-house, there are no intermediary margins, allowing us to pass those savings on to the manga artists in the form of higher page rates (13,000 to 15,000 yen per page).
By increasing the page rates—which tend to be lower for adaptations compared to original manga—we solve issues like the difficulty of hiring assistants, creating an environment where higher-quality manga can be produced consistently.
3. Dedication to the Original Work
We exclusively adapt works from Dangan Bunko and do not aim to force a high volume of releases.
Dangan Comics inherits the 'commitment to quality' that is the ethos of Dangan Bunko, focusing only on original works that have already been well-received within the Dangan Bunko library.
[Regarding Serialization and Publication]
In addition to the three initial titles, two more are currently in production.
Furthermore, we will continue to recruit manga artists to increase our production volume.
