Bloomo Securities Introduces Passkey Authentication to Combat Fraud

Bloomo Securities Co., Ltd. has introduced passkey authentication for its service login to ensure a safer environment for users. This move follows a surge in unauthorized access to securities accounts, with over 18,000 cases reported between January 2025 and February 2026. Passkey authentication, based on the FIDO2 standard, is highly resistant to phishing as passwords are not sent to servers. The Japan Securities Dealers Association has mandated the implementation of passkey authentication by the end of June 2026. Bloomo plans to transition its login method entirely to passkeys by around June 2026.
