◆ Simultaneous Release of the 'Three Brothers': Ryuusen, Hayabusa, and Hakunyorai. A one-day-only special event showcasing only the highest-tier Juyondai sakes.
◆ Event Details
🍶 A premium, one-day-only project to experience the 'pinnacle of Juyondai' through a three-way tasting
The highlight of this event is the simultaneous tasting of the 'Three Brothers,' centered around Juyondai's flagship 'Ryuusen.'
◾️ Juyondai Ryuusen: Made from Yamada Nishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture's Special A-grade region, polished to 35%. After ultra-low-temperature fermentation, it undergoes 'Tokapiri' and ice-temperature aging. Extracted drop by drop using the 'Shichidai Nijuukan' technique, this is Juyondai's highest expression and an annual release. It opens with a sweet aroma reminiscent of white peach and pear, evolving into a light, clean finish—the 'completed form' of Juyondai.
◾️ Juyondai Ryuusen Hayabusa: Named after 'Hayabusa Rapids,' one of the three dangerous rapids of the Mogami River, this is a premium cloudy nigori sake. Like a powerful current washing over rocky reefs, it balances complex umami from lees with clarity—a sister label to Ryuusen. Tasting the clear Ryuusen and cloudy Hayabusa side by side allows direct experience of how the same philosophy expresses itself through 'clarity' and 'cloudiness'—an experience unique to this event.
◾️ Juyondai Hakunyorai: A pure rice daiginjo created in 2015 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Takagi Shuzo. The Zen phrase 'Hakunyorai' means 'a free and open state, unattached to anything, with a refreshing detachment.' Since 2020, the label has included the name 'Ryuusen,' positioning it as a flagship sibling with the same specifications. It offers a sweet, wagashi-like aroma, a honeyed aftertaste like ripe fruit, and a subtle dry finish—embodying the dignity of a 'celebratory sake.'
Tasting these three sakes—crafted with the same specifications and philosophy—through the different lenses of clarity, cloudiness, and commemorative sake in one night is the ultimate opportunity to understand the 'depth' of Juyondai.
Additionally, we will release all 14 varieties of Juyondai at once, including the ultimate 'Hishu,' sold only once a year at the Palace Hotel Tokyo; 'Ryuketsu,' 'Sokou,' and the legendary 'Man' from the Shichidai Nijuukan series; the Daikijou series; and 'Ranki 2013,' which expresses the beauty of aging.
With only 18 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage you not to miss this rare opportunity.
