Beckhoff Automation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa) will host its private exhibition, "Beckhoff Technology Day 2026 in Nagoya," on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Nagoya Convention Hall. The event's theme is "Hannover Messe 2026 Flash Report - How Physical AI Accelerates the Intelligence of Production Goods." It will introduce new Beckhoff product information and the latest European trends. A keynote speech will be delivered by Christian Gummich, Plastics Industry Manager at Beckhoff Automation GmbH (Germany HQ), titled "Smart Plastics Production - Fusion of PC Control and Machine Learning/Generative AI." This keynote will present practical AI application examples on a PC control platform, such as quality prediction using machine learning in injection molding and generative AI in extrusion blow molding processes. Product demonstrations will include the high-speed linear transport system "XTS," the magnetic levitation transport system "XPlanar," the control panel-less, plug-in solution "MX-System," and an agent-based AI integrated control demo using "TwinCAT CoAgent." The latest industrial PCs, including C6025, C6015 (with Intel Atom®), and CX8290 (with Linux®), will also be showcased, along with a Robot VM demo integrated with TwinCAT MATLAB®. Additionally, the University of Tokyo Robocon Circle RoboTech, sponsored by Beckhoff, will give a special report on their victory at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robocon 2025 in Mongolia, achieved through the use of EtherCAT and AI technology. Beckhoff Automation's Representative Director and President, Toshimitsu Kawano, stated that the Beckhoff Technology Day will be held twice a year from this year. The company's focus is on exploring the adaptation of "Physical AI" (fusion of AI and the physical world) in manufacturing and promoting initiatives for safety and security, including compliance with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) for industrial control systems.
