Bankaku Sohonpo was founded in 1889 (Meiji 22) in Yokosuka (now Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture), taking the first and last name of its founder, Kakujiro Ban. Centered around the shrimp cracker 'Yukari', which was created through ingenuity and refinement of the 'Ebi Hanpei' presented to the Tokugawa family during the Edo period, the company creates sweets that make the most of nature's blessings.
