The 'U1954' is based on a sole that fuses the upper of the '890,' which appeared in the 2000s, with the sole of the original '2002,' and its design is inspired by the original '2002' and '1906.'

The streamlined upper on the PL-1 last uses pig suede and mesh, and the three-layer midsole, which combines full-length ABZORB and ABZORB SBS, provides cushioning and stability for a comfortable fit.

The model name '1954' has a unique background, being the number between '2002' and '1906' when added together, which is also a captivating point.

This release features three colorways: white, gray, and black, which are entry colors typical of New Balance.
