atmos Opens New Store in Sendai PARCO, Marking First Expansion into Tohoku Region

atmos is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new store, "atmos Sendai PARCO," on Friday, May 29, 2026, marking its first venture into the Tohoku region.

Sendai is known as the "City of Trees," a place where nature and urban life coexist, nurtured and maintained by human hands. atmos, too, continues to select and curate products from its unique perspective, constantly disseminating culture. Resonating with Sendai's deeply rooted "forest" philosophy, atmos aims to create a store where visitors can experience the "sneaker forest" that atmos has cultivated.

The interior space is designed to evoke a managed "forest," with columnar shoe displays serving as the central axis of the space. By combining wooden materials with metalwork reminiscent of "Nambu ironware" and screens, the store expresses atmos's unique worldview where nature and city coexist. The rhythm and depth created by the carefully arranged layout allow sneakers to blend into the space as if they were part of the "forest," rather than mere products.

Furthermore, recognizing Sendai's characteristic as the largest city in Tohoku and a "gateway to Tohoku" where people and culture intersect, atmos has conceptualized it as a "junction." It aims to create a gathering place centered around a community area where people can connect. Sofas surrounded by showcases interpret Japanese elements in a modern way, establishing a contemporary community space unique to atmos. The intention is for new styles and cultures to naturally emerge and spread from this space.

In commemoration of the opening of "atmos Sendai PARCO," there will be a limited release of collaboration T-shirts by atmos apparel and mood. Additionally, customers who purchase products at the store will receive an original shoulder bag on a first-come, first-served basis.

Moreover, to celebrate this opening, an archive exhibition showcasing masterpieces of sneakers launched by atmos in the past will be held for 10 days, from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 31, 2026, at "PARCO FACTORY SENDAI," an event space on the 5th floor of Sendai PARCO 1. Fifty carefully selected pairs from the "atmos anniversary special book," which encapsulates atmos's 25-year history and was released in April this year, commemorating its 25th anniversary last year, will be specially featured. These valuable archive pieces are not usually displayed to the public.
