Literary critic. Born in 1967. Graduated from Osaka University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Music (Musicology major), and completed a Master's degree at Saitama University Graduate School. While at Osaka University, he published and presided over the literary magazine "A Single Grain of Wheat," releasing numerous literary and social critiques. In the latter half of 1998, he was in charge of the new writer's novel review for Bungei Shunju's literary magazine "Bungaku Kai." In 2003, his "Yasunari Kawabata's 'The Old Capital'" was a finalist for the 35th Shincho Newcomer Award in the critical essay division, recommended by Ikkou Toyama. Since then, he has expanded his activities from literary criticism to political and social commentary. In 2015, he established the General Incorporated Association Japan Peace Research Institute and became its chairman. In 2017, he received the 18th Seiron New Face Award. His books include "The Day of the Promise: A Theoretical Essay on Shinzo Abe" and "Twenty-One Chapters After Hideo Kobayashi" (Gentosha), "Furtwängler and Karajan" (Keibunsha Shoten), and "The Value of a Writer" (Asuka Shinsha), among many others.
