ASTRO GATE Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Akiruno City, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Daisuke Oide; hereinafter "ASTRO GATE") announces its attendance at the "Tohoku Space Industry Study Group" held at the Sendai Joint Government Building in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
The Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, in cooperation with Kakuda City in Miyagi Prefecture, Noshiro City in Akita Prefecture, Minamisoma City in Fukushima Prefecture, and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), is conducting studies for wide-area collaboration to promote space-related industries in the Tohoku region. The Tohoku region has many aerospace-related experimental facilities, such as the Noshiro Rocket Testing Site, the Kakuda Space Center, and the Fukushima Robot Test Field, and under these circumstances, many space-related companies have begun to gather.
Going forward, we will continue to consider further development of demonstration environments, securing space personnel, and building supply chains.
At this meeting, our representative, Mr. Oide, commented on the needs and challenges of space industry players from the perspective of the Space Industry Collaboration Organization, a general incorporated association where he serves as co-representative. In addition, our Director and CEO, Harada, reported on the space experiment environment needs and the economic ripple effects of establishing a demonstration environment in Tohoku, which were investigated in the "FY2025 Survey of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (Survey on the Potential for Accelerating the Growth of New Space Companies and Forming a Space Industry Hub in the Tohoku Region)" commissioned by the Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry this fiscal year.
ASTRO GATE is composed of members with advanced expertise in the design and operation of spaceports and combustion test facilities, and the construction of supply chains. Based on this knowledge, we will continue to accelerate space development in the Tohoku region.
