▼ Overview

While rapidly evolving AI and quantum technologies inspire hope for the future, significant challenges (materialities) that SDGs alone seem unable to solve are becoming apparent, such as conflicts with no end in sight, global boiling and natural disasters, declining birthrates and aging populations, and disparities and divisions. Interest is growing in business and social restructuring to survive the rapidly changing, unstable VUCA society.

In this webinar series, Nobuaki Kawaguchi, Executive Chief Scientist at Astamuse Co., Ltd., will discuss the possibilities of a more certain future business, based on his books 'Future Map to 2080' (April 2024) and 'White Paper for Future Creation 2060' (2020).

Following the first session "AI and Singularity," the second "Real Space Metaverse and Monozukuri," the third "Medical, Food, and Agricultural Well-being," the fourth "Cities, Sustainability, and Nature Positive," and the fifth "Economic Security, Geopolitical Risks, and the New World Order," the sixth session will delve into the fundamental questions humankind has grappled with since ancient times: the essence of "death," "time," and "mind."

In recent years, rapid advancements in neuroscience and biotechnology have begun to unravel the mysteries of life, which were previously considered the domain of philosophy and religion, through scientific and technological means. In the future of 2080, how will our views on life, perception of time, and the nature of the mind change?

The discussion will touch upon dementia as the leading cause of death among Japanese people, the mechanisms of gut microbiota and the gut-brain axis, life extension and rejuvenation, mitochondrial preemptive medicine and epigenetic clocks, psychological time and time perception from a neuroscience perspective, quantum brain theory, qualia and self, the hard problem of consciousness, and even mind uploading and transhumanism.

Those who wish to learn about the future business environment and new business opportunities, as presented by the author known as Dr. FUTURE, are encouraged to register.
